Stylists can help you achieve gorgeous colour, bombshell blowouts, and super-healthy locks. These are their top tips.
1 Use a shampoo that lathers more. Sometimes, this can mean the opposite. Shampoos that lather excessively are loaded with moisturizing products, which can cause hair to look and feel dirtier. Make sure you choose a shampoo that is not sulfate-laden.
2 Give your hair a quick blast of cold after
you have finished, run the cold water through your hair. This seals the cuticle and gives your locks a polished look.
3) Dry your hair hot-and-cold. Use a round brush to dry your hair sections. Start at the roots and work your way up to the ends. Let the brush rest at the tips of your hair. Allow your hair to cool down for five seconds. Then, go on to the next section. Your style will be more defined if you alternate between cool-down and heat.
4) Apply an at-home glaze in between your colour appointments. Glazes can fill in any cracks or rough edges on your hair cuticles. They will smoothen your hair and add moisture to your hair. Glazes make your hair shine brighter, making it last longer and look better. You can also find an at-home kit at your local pharmacy.
For high volume, use rollers. Blot your hair until it is dry for a sex-kitten lift. Next, cut the hair from the top of your head. This should be between your temples and the crown of the hair. As if you were creating a mohawk, divide the section vertically and wrap each one in a 2-inch Velcro hair roller. Allow your hair to rest for 30 minutes. Then, unwrap the hair and lightly comb it out. Spray for hold.
6) Take the towel off. Frizz can be caused by wrapping wet hair in a towel for half an hour while applying your makeup. Because of the roughness of the cotton, your hair cuticles are more likely to open and cause frizz. Instead, dry your hair for 5-10 minutes after you get out of the shower.
7) Use products 10 minutes before styling. Apply product 10 minutes before you start curling, straightening or any other style. This allows the product to absorb fully into your hair, giving you more benefits and bang.
You don’t have to secure your hair to the barrel when curling with a curling iron. 8) Wrap–don’t clamp–your hair for quick curls. For the same soft curls, wrap sections around the iron for 10 seconds and then let it rest.
9 Spray bottles are your new best friend.
When your hair is completely dry or flat from the day before, spray it until damp. Then use a large-barrel round brush to blow your hair dry. This will give you a lot of volumes and create the illusion that your hair is smooth.
10 Even though your hair is clean, the barrier will prevent the oil and dirt that builds up on your hair throughout the day. You also get incredible volume.
